INTRODUCTION TO Our MALT
We produce a variety of malts as well as flaked and heirloom grains for our customers.
Each batch is processed on site in our malt house. Once a tobacco warehouse, this modern facility enables our skilled and knowledgeable maltster to create single-batch craft malt through precise, efficient computerized monitoring of the multi-day, multi-step process.
The result is beautiful, fresh malts for our craft brewery customers.
OUR MALTING PROCESS
1.) Steeping, to add moisture to harvested grains
2.) Germinating, to sprout grains
3.) Kilning, to dry and flavor malt
4.) Cleaning, to prepare malt for packaging
5.) Lab testing and analysis, to define batch qualities
6.) Packaging, to deliver to breweries
OUR SPECIALTY MALTS
Growing our own grains enables us to hand-craft every facet of our custom malts. We love working with customers to develop specialty malts to fit their needs. We also grow and sell raw heirloom grains upon request.
